Cheraw Hosts Home Ownership Workshop with Habitat for Humanity

The Town of Cheraw is partnering with Union-Anson Habitat for Humanity to hold a home ownership workshop as part of Cheraw’s Fair Housing Month Initiatives.  Attendees will learn about Habitat for Humanity’s application process, mortgage basics, resources to improve credit scores, and the expectations of new homeowners in the Habitat for Humanity program.

“The goal of our program is to set applicants up for success” said Brenda Parson with Habitat for Humanity.  Ms. Parson will be leading the workshop for Habitat.  The presentation will take place at the Cheraw Police Department Conference Room at 258 Second Street, on May 8th at 6PM.  Habitat for Humanity will have application packets on site for those who are interested.

With home construction underway at the Stonecrest Subdivision on Stanley Road, Habitat for Humanity is actively seeking applicants for new home construction. “The Town of Cheraw is excited to see this project get underway, and we were grateful for the opportunity to partner with Habitat for Humanity to make it happen” said Rob Wolfe, Town Manager.  Stonecrest Subdivision has been made possible through donations and work by First Bank, the Malloy Family, Habitat for Humanity, and the Town of Cheraw.
