"National Night Out" Tuesday, October 2
Cheraw's "National NightOut" event will include a number of activities for area children and their families including music, a smokehouse, and displays of public safety vehicles & equipment. This coordinated event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership, and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Before coming downtown to enjoy the festivities with neighbors and local law enforcement, Cheraw area residents are asked to lock their doors and turn on their outside lights until 10 pm to show their support of this event.
