The Cheraw Spring Festival returns for its thirty-ninth year March 28-30 with long time favorites plus some fun new events. A few activities kick off Friday evening with most of the family-friendly events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Entertainment is scheduled both days at the Cheraw Community Center, and on Saturday at Centennial Park. New this year will be a Pet Parade Saturday morning, a Civil War Storyteller at River's Edge Saturday evening and a Cruise-In Sunday afternoon. Spring Festival brochures, outlining the full weekend schedule, are available at the Cheraw Town Hall, the Cheraw Community Center, the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce and at area businesses.
Beginning this summer, the Town of Cheraw will provide recycling drop-off centers, replacing the current curbside recycling program. Approximately 200 out of 5,000 area homes now take advantage of the curbside recycling the town offers. Any out of town residents that prepaid for this service will be reimbursed for the months not used. There will be no charge for recycling at the drop-off centers.
