Seeking Main Street Tourism and Marketing Manager
The Town of Cheraw, South Carolina is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Main Street/Marketing-Tourism Manager.
The Main Street/Tourism-Marketing Manager primary duties will coordinate activity within a downtown revitalization program that utilizes historic preservation as an integral foundation for core area economic development. He/she is responsible for the development, conduct, execution, and documentation of the Main Street Program. The Manager is the principal on-site staff person responsible for coordination of all activities locally as well as for representing the community regionally and nationally as appropriate. In addition, the project manager should help guide the organization as it grows and as its objectives evolve. Also, this person will be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet the Town's objectives such as evaluating visitor research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed. Oversees all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities for the Town.
The Main Street/Tourism-Marketing Manager should be a creative thinker and have the education, knowledge, and experience in as many of the following areas as possible; first and foremost, Public relations and communication, historic preservation, planning, journalism, and volunteer or non-profit administration. Also helpful are business development, architecture, economics, finance, design, business administration, public administration, retailing, and proficient background in social media platforms.
Starting salary will be $38,000-$45,000 depending upon experience.
