Join the Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services for the third and final concert of the new winter concert series “1st Fridays Cool Vibes after 5.” The cool, easy vibe concerts have been the talk of the town on Friday nights at the Cheraw Community Center, 200 Powe Street.
 
On Friday, March 4th, the Sand Band will perform. The concert begins at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm). This will be the final 1st Friday concert for the 2022 winter season, and it is an event that you do not want to miss!

Recommended for ages 21+ and it is only $7.00/per person. Eat dinner at one of our downtown restaurants prior to the concert and present your receipt for $2 off concert admission. This is a bring your own cooler (BYOC) and chair concert.
Come watch the dirt fly in the sand hills of Chesterfield County, as vehicles from across the country arrive to compete for the fastest times!
 
Sandblast Rally is a car and motorcycle race run primarily in the Sandhills State Forest and H. Cooper Black Recreation facility in Chesterfield Country, SC.  All of the racing is against the clock to see which vehicle can complete the course in the lowest cumulative time.

Get ready to jump for joy as two-time Grammy nominated trumpeter Alphonso Horne returns to Cheraw with his group "The Gotham Kings". This high energy jazz group weaves together the sounds of New Orleans into a rich musical fabric.

Mark your calendars for Friday, March 11 at 7PM for an evening concert at the Theatre on the Green in downtown Cheraw.

On Saturday morning, 11AM March 12 "The Gotham Kings" will present a performance for children and students at the Theatre on the Green. Alphonso currently serves as an educator for Jazz at Lincoln Center’s: Jazz for Young People. The audience will participate as musicians in this interactive show. This performance is part of the Cheraw Arts Commission's Children's Playhouse Theatre series.

The Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services Department would like to invite all young ladies, ages 4 years old and older, and their dads (or a positive male influence) to the annual semi-formal dinner and dance. This popular event will be held on Saturday, March 12th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Cheraw Community Center. The cost per couple is $30.00 and $15.00 each additional daughter which includes dinner, dancing, door prizes and a gift for every girl. A professional photographer will be available at the event (not included in ticket price).

Be sure to purchase your tickets at the Cheraw Community Center (Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm) before Friday, March 4th. This event is always a sell out, so get your tickets now!

March EATS Week promotes our local restaurants and their food offerings during March 11-19. Customers will be eligible for $25 Cash prizes in drawings at participating Cheraw restaurants.  There will also be an opportunity to enter for a Cash Grand Prize of $100.  The List of Participating Restaurants is:
