Cheraw Alive! Meet me Downtown Summer Concert Series Presented by the Cheraw Arts Commission, the Town of Cheraw, the Cheraw Parks and Recreation Department and the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce. Bring your blankets to the Town Green and enjoy a relaxing summer evening filled with a variety of music and events. From jazz to bluegrass, an outdoor movie, to fireworks and beach music, there’s something for every taste. All events are free admission and start at 6:30 p.m.
Special Field Day Co-sponsored by the Chesterfield County School District and the Cheraw Parks and Recreation Department, this day is filled with track and field events along with “Fun Town”. This annual event, designed for the exceptional children in our district, is held at the Cheraw High School football field.
Mother/Daughter Tea Party Girls ages 3 and up and their moms/grandmothers enjoy a precious and unforgettable Tea that is held in May.
Daddy/Daughter Date Night Young ladies, ages 4 and up, and their dads/granddads enjoy a candlelit dinner with dancing, photos and prizes. Held in February
Annual Senior Citizens Day Seniors enjoy a day of food, entertainment & fellowship. All seniors 60 & up are invited to join us for entertainment, door prizes, & lunch. ALL FREE!

The Cheraw Spring Festival The Cheraw Parks and Recreation’s annual event held the first weekend in April each year. Activities include arts and crafts show, live bands, clowns, petting zoo, pony rides, car show, chili cook off, black heritage jubilation, softball tournament, and much more.
Cheraw's Annual Easter Egg Hunt A favorite spring event for kids ages 9 and under. Over 1,000 eggs including several golden eggs are hidden at Arrowhead Park. Other activities include kids' games, a visit from the Easter Bunny and refreshments. Free.
Downtown Christmas Celebration
Photos with Santa, strolling carolers in Dickens attire, games, train rides, and merchants with extended hours will all be a part of the Christmas Celebration at Centennial Park Thursday, December 1 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Sponsored by the Town of Cheraw, the Cheraw Merchants Association, and the Cheraw Arts Commission, the family-friendly evening will be an entertaining event for children and adults. Activities will begin with the Marlboro County School of Discovery Band (4:00-4:30) and the Kids’ Train Ride (4:00-7:00). The train ride will be offered for $1.00 per child. Strolling Dickens vocalists, “Carolers of Christmas Past”, from Winston-Salem, will entertain shoppers along Market and Second Streets with a variety of Christmas carols from 4:30 until 7:30. Photos with Santa will be available from 5:30 until 7:30 at a cost of $3.00 per photo. Also, the evening will be the official kickoff for “Oh! Christmas Tree” Festival of Trees, with decorated trees lining Market and Second Streets. For holiday shoppers, merchants will remain open until 8:00 Thursday evening, offering guests light refreshments. At Centennial Park, Jingle Bell Jangle, a children’s Christmas craft, will be offered, and several children’s games will be provided including the Who-ville Wreath Toss, Cindy Lou’s Who Walk, and Welcome Christmas Face Painting. An invitation has also been extended to Rudolph and Frosty to join the evening’s festivities. Children’s Christmas Card Contest is for kids grades Kindergarten through 12th grades and is cosponsored by the Cheraw Recreation Department and the Cheraw Arts commission. During the month of December, the winning cards are displayed in the Art Gallery at the Cheraw Community Center.
The Cheraw Recreation Department’s Halloween Walk Costumed children parade and trick or treat at participating downtown businesses. All kids accompanied by a parent are welcome to participate. This event is usually held October 30 at 4:00 p.m. and begins at the Theatre on the Green.
South Carolina Jazz Festival The 3rd weekend in October. Free Bebop concerts series throughout the town, highlighted with restaurant crawls and Friday night’s Theatre on the Green and Saturday’s 2nd Street Jazz ticketed events.
